A lot of street artists cop flak for their art, but how could an image like this be considered a nuisance? If only there were more art like this on the streets, I reckon people would be happier. It’s like walking past a free public art gallery.

I have to reformat my HDD again because stupid Adobe PS3 doesn’t install on a case-sensitive system. “WTF?!” you say? Yeah, I’m with ya…
There’s fixes for the problem out there, but unfortunately, I don’t have CS3 installed on my old PB…Maybe I should go do that instead of reformatting. But the problem here is the developers at Adobe. WTF were they thinking by not supporting case-sensitive systems? Maybe it’s just that I had always assumed while programming that case-sensitivity was the norm and case-insensitivity the exception. It’s such a simple concept, but I guess those guys are programming in a world of their own. </rant>
I’ve been catching up on the current status of momusu. lately and things seem to be going well. Jun Jun and Lin Lin seem to be fitting into the group great, not to mention their Japanese is excellent compared to when they first started. Jun Jun’s Japanese actually sounds better than Lin Lin’s in my opinion. She doesn’t have as strong a Chinese accent as Lin Lin does. Plus, watching their promo tour to Taiwan was really cool. Jun Jun still seems a bit wary in Japanese, but when she was speaking in Chinese, she was really relaxed, competent and enjoying herself. I hope she brings her character out more because it seems like she’d be a great combi with a few of the other girls (e.g. Eri, Reina and Gakki-san).

Dan Benjamin recently wrote a post at Hivelogic about how the office environment can impact developer productivity and The Zone. I decided to wait until the end of this week to post a response and my own observations, since our team moved into a new office building last Thursday. This most recent move marks the third time I’ve moved to a different building while working for the same organisation. Starting from a building we lovingly called “The Shed” to the new and very modern offices we have now, each is considerably different from the others.

Found SilverStripe this morning while I was doing some research on Hibernate mapping. Seems like a good idea. I’m gonna try it out and see how it compares to ExpressionEngine. Will post a wrap up here soon.
Ah, the joys of validating other peoples’ WordPress themes…
This one wasn’t too bad, but there were some issue with the favicon syntax. I didn’t like it anyway, so I got rid of it. Yay! Fixed!
A couple plugins, Run for Cover and Better Blogroll need to have a few code tweaks made before they validate (XHTML 1.0 Transitional). Run for Cover needs to have alt text added to the album images. I just duplicated the code to generate the title and renamed the attribute to ‘alt’. Better Blogroll needs to have the target attribute removed from the link code.
I’d forgotten that you can’t have spaces between paragraphs in the WordPress post editor otherwise it’l warp it in a paragraph. So for the longest time, the W3C Validator kept trying to tell me that I can’t add a h2 header to my posts. Sheesh…
Just watched Gonzo’s new anime on YouTube (The one on Crunchyroll got pulled for some reason.) and I could probably sum it up in 3 words; random, cliched and hilarious.
From the opening, the anime looks like another high school romance drama, but that’s the last we see of that in this episode. All the cliched bits are actually when the “hero” Jin gets knocked out during a battle. I didn’t really mind them at all, and it was funny to see those old cliched parodies, but I really hope this is the last of it. I just can’t see myself (or anyone else) watching a whole season of that.
A lot of people will probably be thinking, “WTF, BBQ?!” after watching this episode, but that just makes me curious to see what happens next.

BLASSREITER is another new anime from Gonzo this Spring. It’s set in a future Germany where spirits, called Demoniacs, are able to assimilate with machines and other objects.
I thought the first half of the anime was a bit too drawn out. I don’t think they needed to spend that much time highlighting the fact that Gerd was God on a motorcycle. The second half was much more interesting, especially the capture scene. I didn’t like how they introduced the female scientist out of the blue, though. It was just too abrupt. Hopefully they’ll do a background episode on her and what her motivation is for giving him the drug. But then again, looking at what Gerd turned into, the Demoniacs are probably human experimentations of the drug that have gone wrong, and they’re using him to clean up their mess. Let’s hope there’s more to it than that.
Overall, I’m not impressed by the quality of the story. It’s just not interesting enough from what was introduced in this episode. Still, I hope they show more about the Demoniacs in the coming episodes and their origins.

Yoroshiku Fansubs have picked up Chi’s Sweet Home and have been releasing daily since last week.
Chi is so cute and sweet! If you love cats, then you definitely must watch this anime. The plot is pretty light and aimed at pre-schoolers, with each episode only about 3 minutes long sans CMs. Still, for a quick injection of cute and uber happiness, Chi’s Sweet Home is worth every second.
